The Islam book looks interesting, but the chapter titles sure do sound like they are coming at the religion from a certain perspective. I hope the text is much less negative/critical than the chapter titles sound! Can you imgaine a book with a chapter "Can democracy coexist with Christianity"?
I won't have time to compare the two versions of that book on Islam until at least next week, but I noticed the longer book was published before 9/11 and the shorter one (for young adults) was published after 9/11. I'm curious about that. Also, the books have different Dewey system call numbers, one in the 200s and one in the 300s.
2004 = Y 297.27
1995 = 320.55
Maybe as a librarian, you can explain to me how that could be.
Those are definitely some provocative chapter titles for the Islam: Opposing Viewpoints books!
Enjoy your loot!
Yes, Claire, but it appears that each chapter has two parts, with opposing opinions. More after I read one or the other or both books.
