I just looked it up, and found Hug a Cat Day (what you said) and National Hug Your Cat Day (which is June 4th). I also found there's a Respect Your Cat Day (March 28), a National Respect Your Cat Day and an International Respect Your Cat Day. Why don't we just say cats decide when they want to be hugged and when they want to keep to themselves.
