BTT (#12) ~ in public

Do you carry books with you when you’re out and about in the world?
And, do you ever try to hide the covers?
Hide my books?  Goodness no!  And yes, I (nearly) always have a book with me.  As soon as I wrote "always," I started thinking of exceptions.  Like planning to come right back home after running a quick errand.  The problem is that sometimes something happens to delay me and there's that horrible realization I'll have to sit and wait somewhere ... WITHOUT ... A ... BOOK!  Oh, the horror!  Or more truthfully — Oh, the frustration, when I leave home without a book.  Here's my solution.

I've done that when going somewhere quickly, getting delayed, and then realising I don't have something like a book or writing material. I always shake my head at myself, but don't think to bring it next time just in case!

The glove box idea is a great solution when you have a car.

Here's my answer

Perfect solution! My solution is to just carry a big purse everywhere so I have room for a book!

I solved the problem of getting stuck somewhere by always have a book in my purse. I did carry one in my car, but it wasn't a very good one so I didn't continue with the practice

Oh yes, the horror of being caught outside without a book. :o I don't have a car, but I always carry around my iPod Touch, which houses some ebooks for emergencies :)
