Beginning ~ with renovations

Beginning

Angie Roseland and her black cat Circe walked through the foyer of her eighteen-room Victorian mansion and down the hall towards the den.  The doorway to the den had a large plastic sheet hanging over it to keep the dust, sheetrock particles, and debris from traveling into the other rooms of the house.

Sweet Secrets: A Sweet Cove Mystery ~ by J A Whiting, 2015, mystery, 202 pages

Renovations begin on the Victorian mansion and lead to revelations about Professor Marion Linden and why she left the house to Angie in her will, while questions surface about the Robin's Point land.  Who really owned the land where Nana's cottage once stood?  The Roseland sisters begin an investigation into misdeeds of the past, and with the help of their two fine felines, engage in a dangerous search for the truth.

I shared two sentences above.  The third sentence is about the orange cat (there are two) watching the work through the clear plastic.  But it's the fourth sentence that finally gets to the point here, that Angie was moving her Sweet Dreams Bake Shop into a small section of the Victorian mansion.  Okay, I'm hooked.  I'm ready for something light.

Sounds like a lovely opening that kind of evokes the renovations in such a massive mansion! Having a black cat myself I was also very partial to Circe! I hope you enjoy this one and that you have a lovely weekend :)

I've been thinking a lot about cats lately because of the excellent Netflix special about them. Gotta love those furry friends.

Juli, you may notice on the sidebar that I also have a black cat. Her name is Clawdia. Yes, spelled with a "W" as in CLAW. :D
