Writing reviews of books is not an easy thing to do, even when you love a book. I am always afraid that my reviews will sound stilted or all the same, but I don't feel that way when I read other people's blogs, so maybe I should just let go :-)
I do think the basics are necessary (title, author, genre, year, etc). And I want to know why a reviewer didn't like or liked a book. (And yes, I've checked the box so I'll see your response. Why haven't I done this before?!)
You do not, of course, need to use all of these questions, which is why I started with my short summary. Pick and choose whatever works for you. I agree that the basics need to be there (title, author, copyright date, and genre) for any book. I'm frustrated when people omit the date, which matters to me, and I'm surprised at how many omit the author's name. Don't they know these things matter?
