I hope that title got your attention because I'll be mostly "gone" for the whole month of November. I am taking on something that seems absolutely ridiculous, but may actually push me in a new direction, somewhere I've never gone before. I'm taking on NaNoWriMo. That, my friends, is short for National Novel Writing Month.
Click on the icon if you want to learn more about it. This is the first one I've ever done, so I have no idea how busy I'll be. I hope, first of all, to make it through the entire month. (Wish me luck ... or stamina.) Second, I hope to write 50,000 words of a novel. I have never done fiction before, so I don't expect my novel will be all that wonderful. No, no, no! Wait!! Let me start over: I have never done fiction before, so I will be amazed at how well it goes. Yeah, that's the spirit!

Yay Bonnie! I admire your spirit and your pluck in taking on such a challenge. I have heard of this--some high school friends of my daughter did it--but haven't had the nerve to attempt it. But good for you in doing it! I'll be thinking about you and rooting for you!
Thanks, Beth. I need all the cheerleaders I can get!
I applaud you for taking on this challenge, and for trying something new!!! We all know how well you can write, and a novel is a great thing to write!!
So I'm another cheerleader, all the way from Holland!
Thanks, Margreet! Don't stop until December, okay?
Good luck and have fun!
Thanks, Michelle, that's my goal. Well, fun plus a novel.
: )
I'm cheering for you too Bonnie! And hopefully you'll have a blog where you post up your progress/writing for us to read and cheer you on at. I know if I had to disclose my word count daily or weekly I'd write more, lol.
Thanks, Anne. If you go to my profile, you'll find that I have lots of blogs, including this one:
Bonnie's NaNoWriMo Blog
Go for it, Bonnie! Wishing you huge good luck and sending lots of support and encouraging vibes your way. Good on you for undertaking the NaNoWriMo challenge!
Thanks, Vanilla! Roary has agreed to be my muse, sitting nearby but NOT roaring at me when I don't listen to him. Maybe next year he'll try writing his own novel.
Bonnie you are so brave and adventurous, always taking on new projects. I remember reading about this challenge last November. Good luck on your novel. I will be looking for it in the bookstores, and will be able to say, "I knew her back when..."
Oh, yes, "back when" is a great time to remember. Thanks, Susan, but maybe I shouldn't dream sugar-plum dreams of my novel for sale in the bookshops before I have a clue what's going on with my characters! LOL. So far they seem rather ordinary, with ordinary problems ... meaning, who cares? But something's bound to happen, right? Right?
Oh my! You do have a lot of blogs, Bonnie! I am bookmarking your NaMoWriMo blog so I can read your novel and cheer you on.
Something will happen, they have to get to the next page and the page after that. They can't sit about drinking tea and eating scones all day, lol.
Good luck! I hope you have a lot of fun.
Thanks, Dewey.
Anne, that's not where I'm writing my novel, though it is my home base for getting to NaNoWriMo.org and looking at ideas for my characters. Since I am posting an excerpt of my novel at the NaNoWriMo site, I'll post it on my NaNo blog as well. See you there?
Good luck Bonnie and do enjoy all that writing - where can we keep up with how you are doing?
Are you going to be involved in a YA piece I wonder ....
Thanks, Juliette. See above where I supply a link for Anne to "Bonnie's NaNoWriMo Blog." You can click on that or you can copy and paste this:

As you can see, I'm not really "gone" very far away at all. I'm still replying to all these well wishes. I'll be doing most of what I usually do, though maybe not visiting blogs quite as often.
Go Bonnie!!! I wish I had the inspiration to write, let alone get 50,000 words out of my head LOL!! I know you can do it!
The very best of luck to you. I will light a candle this evening and say a short prayer that you succeed in your goal.
