I love the way Laurie Halse Anderson puts words together, so I am delighted to share these teasers from Wintergirls (2009). "When school started, she looked right through me in the halls, her new friends draped around her neck like Mardi Gras necklaces. She wiped me off the face of her existence" (p. 11).
"Cassie's at the morgue, I guess. Last night she slept there in a silver drawer, eyes getting used to the dark" (p. 15).

Wintergirls was one of my favorite reads in 2009!
I'm really into the book and probably would have finished it by now, if LIFE hadn't intervened! Maybe I'll be able to read most of it before falling asleep tonight. As you can see, I had barely started (quoted pages 11 and 15, near the beginning of the book) when I had to stop reading and post something about it!
I have heard this is awesome! Cant wait!
