Fursday ~ it's a thing, as of today

Okay!  I just heard about "Fursday" from another cat (her name's Fiona), so now I can claim at least two days a week:  Fursday and Caturday.  That's only fair, don't you think?  Let's see, what furry kind of fun can I come up with today?  I think I'll nap on it and get back to you.

Thursday Thoughts ~ about exercise

Clawdia wants the world to know it's really FURSday, meaning it's HER day, not mine.  These yoga positions are easy for her, except the last one.  She prefers to put her face down into her food and use her tongue to lap it up.  Cake?  Ugh!  Not her thing at all.

This is Clawdia's way of doing the waterfall.  Just hang your head off the side of the bed.  No problem.

Cat pendant

Here's the Egyptian cat goddess Bast posed before a carving of the Rosetta stone, the one that allowed people to decode hieroglyphs.  On this last Fursday of the year, I want to tell you what I gave Donna for Christmas ... and why.  She's been taking care of Sasha for four months or so, while Sandy was in the hospital and then after Sandy died.  In a few days, Sasha will be moving in with another lady, but we don't know her.  So I thought Donna should have this little medallion with a cat on it.  I wrote this note for Donna.
Sasha 12-1-19
Sasha and I want you to have this special pendant so you will always remember her after she has to move away from you next week.  We smart cats remember when we were worshiped as deities in ancient Egypt, like my ancestor Bast on this piece of jewelry.  I want to pass it on to a worthy person, since somebody "fixed" me and I can never have a kitten to continue my line.  Sasha and I both love you because you’re a real cat person.  That's a compliment, you know, coming from two cats.
And I signed it, "Love always" because Sasha and I will both love Donna for always and forever.

Oh, wait! I just noticed that "medallion" is really MEDAL LION without the space.  Yes!  I gave Donna a little lion medal.  (Also a metal lion.)

Gotchaversary

I have discovered a new word.  On July 23rd, I celebrate Gotcha Day for Clawdia, who came to live with me on that date in 2015.  I ran across a post about a feral cat named Grandpa Mason.  Well, they named him Mason when he was found three years ago, but by his actions fostering rescue kittens, he became a grandpa.  Anyway, there was a video of him on his "gotchaversary."  Makes sense to me.

"Mason found a new purpose in life:  being a foster grandpa to rescue kittens.  For 1069 magical days, Grandpa Mason shaped dozens of young minds, passed down important grandpa secrets, demonstrated tremendous hunting prowess, taught manners, quashed impudence, and created a multitude of fashion-forward kitten hairstyles."
He loved taking care of kittens, and he had a Facebook page.  Grandpa Mason died on October 19th, or as they say about pets, he crossed the rainbow bridge.
"Grandpa Mason showed the world that even if you’re old, sick, feral, broken, or different, you have value.  You have something to offer.  You are worthy of compassion.  You matter."
If the video quits working, watch it on YouTube.

A similar newly-minted word that I've used on this blog is blogiversary.  Oh, there's one more word that applies today:  Fursday.  Clawdia likes that one.  Have you ever used any of these words?

Fursday conqueror

Ha!  This cat can't slay the red dot, but me?  I actually caught the white mouse that lives in that thing Bonnie calls a laser light.  I did!  I have caught it many times.

I didn't "slay" it, though.  I didn't even actually FEEL it under my paws, but I caught it and it couldn't get away until I lifted my paws!  Yes, really!

Added by Bonnie, later:
The "mouse" looks a lot like this, only "white" in the dim hallway.
