Snow lady

Somebody built a snow lady here at the gated senior community where I live.  I don't know who did it, but I like her blue eyes and ceramic buttons.  I can see she has a sweet tooth, but she isn't smiling at the slush and snow that will turn icy when the temps drop into the twenties tonight.  It's currently 35 degrees Fahrenheit, and this little lady is slowly melting.

Cady in the snow

I told you earlier this month that Cady's ready for Christmas and winter's chill.  This is the snow she got for Christmas when her folks took her to visit her other grandparents in Cosby, Tennessee, at the edge of the Smoky Mountains.  Cady, my youngest grandchild, is ten.

Barefoot at Bonnie's ~ a cat's perspective

Bonnie was reading a book the other day called Barefoot in Baghdad, and that got me to thinking.  I go barefooted all the time, but it would never occur to me to write a book about it.  Maybe a single post, like this, but not a whole book.  Maybe people get cold feet in Baghdad, since you have no fur.  We cats get cold as well.  I have walked around in the snow and it's not fun.  The pads on my paws are thick, but snow is still wet and cold.  Brrrrrrr!  I'd rather stay inside and look at snow through the window.  This snow picture is from last winter.  We probably won't have snow again until January, though it's possible around here in November or December.

And now it's slushy

My mailman delivered a book to my door, leaving slushy footprints in his wake. We doubled yesterday's snow before it started melting in 34*F weather this morning.

It's snowing

My cell phone camera didn't pick up the snowflakes drifting down, but it's still snowing.  And it started before 1:00 pm.

Yesterday the maintenance guys chopped off all the crepe myrtles. Today it snowed. The blank spot is for spring.
