Good for you - Demonstrations are so important now. I am in Toronto, where I went to a book launch today - Eileen Thalenberg's "And Yet ... ." - excellent poetry. I found the language clear, direct and precise. Her images and situations were simply described but were deeply meaningful. The very first poem caught a particular image - a farmer bent over his scythe in a painting - then she describes others bent over their work - weavers, her father stretching pelts, a waitress placing a dinner, and including the poet as she "hunches over a notebook, each working to earn a place on this earth leaning, embracing, bowing before what needs to be done."
