Ads on blogs? Not mine!

I just discovered that some bloggers had ads running on their blogs without their knowledge.  I don't think that's ever happened to me, but how would I know?  Have you ever seen any ads on this blog?  If so, I didn't put it there, didn't want it there, didn't know it was there.  I'm not blogging to make money, and I would not want ads placed on my blog without my knowledge.

  1. Never seen any ads. I don't love it when ads pop up on book blogs, especially when they get in the middle of a post.

  2. Thanks, Helen. It's good to know. I've never seen ads on other "blogspot" blogs of my bookish friends, but who knows, these days?

  3. Wordpress runs some ads, which I suppose is part of the price of having a free blog.

  4. Thanks for that information, Martha. Blogger (which this is/was, before Google took it over) is also free. I hope it never has ads. I have no idea how it makes money for Blogger ... or if it does at all. I don't know why Google took over, or why they seem to have left. Google made changes, like only allowing notices about "follow-up comments" to be sent to my gmail account, which I opened only to be able to comment. But I never check that account. No telling what may be lurking there, waiting in vain for me to see it. Before Google, Blogger sent notifications to my yahoo account. I started blogging in January 2007, so I've been here a dozen years, but I don't know what may have recently changed when Google left.I At least I *THINK* they did.
