My favorite music is Mozart's Bassoon Concerto (1774), and today is Mozart's birthday (27 January 1756 – 5 December 1791). Maybe you don't know I played the bassoon, back in high school and college, and was in the Chattanooga Youth Symphony once upon a time. I could NOT, by any stretch of the imagination, play like this:
How wonderful that you played the bassoon, Bonnie! Did you ever play this particular piece in a performance? It looks hard!
I love Mozart, too. And Amadeus has always been one of my favorite movies. By the way, I always really felt for Salieri--like him, I've wondered why God gives such gifts to the vulgar. :-)
By the way, that bassoon player in the video is not only really talented---he's really cute. I enjoyed his performance in more ways than one. Hee, hee...
Oh, no! I wasn't quite good enough to be the featured musician like this. Nope! But I enjoy hearing the voice of a bassoon speaking, if you will. When my children were watching cartoons, I learned that bassoons are OFTEN used for the background music. Mother and I would look at each other and say, "Bassoon!"
Bonnie, I honestly don't think I can picture you playing the bassoon!!
ReplyDeleteBut I do love me some Mozart!!
