"Satan obviously has a foothold in this school!" I told my roommate twenty-five years ago at Evangel University. Moments earlier, I had stormed out of freshman biology class after the teacher held up the textbook we were going to use, and I recognized it as one that taught evolution. How else could I explain why a Bible-believing, Assemblies of God institution would teach evolution?

My Book Beginnings
Hmm interesting novel. Based on the beginning I am curious as to what transpires as I go to Assembly of God church. What are your thoughts of it so far?

Laura, I haven't gotten far enough into the book to say much about it yet, but it isn't a novel. This memoir opens with something the author actually did 25 years ago. I'm curious about how and why his thinking changed and what that meant in his life. I'm not sure what your church teaches about evolution and creationism, but United Methodists (my church) don't have a problem with evolution.
