I went to the library this afternoon and got the first book on the list above. Do you see John Adams by David McCullough under "Currently reading" on my sidebar? I didn't realize it would be 651 pages thick, with another 100 pages of end notes, bibliography, and index (751 pages in all).

Funny thing about "Hot, Flat, and Crowded" - Obama quoted from it during the campaign.
Hopefully it was mistakenly included on the list.

Why? I quote from books I haven't finished. Sometimes I even quote from books I haven't started. Don't you glance through books before you start? I do. Besides, he may have read the quote in a book review somewhere, just as I do. If it's good enough, I'd quote it.
I just came back from the library, where I picked up a copy of John Adams by David McCullough. I've been meaning to read it, and now seems like a good time.
